There is a rumour going around the internet right now that Thailand's reefs are dying, and are closed to scuba diving.
This is simply not true – while a recent bleaching event has distressed some areas and caused some other marine park closures, only two of the affected reefs are considered dive sites and neither are near around Koh Tao. So, you are free to experience the remarkable marine life that is Koh Tao almost unconstrained.
